| Question for mature nudists? I have recently learned about the nudist lifestyle, and i would like to try the experience myself. I have heard its very liberating, and I am planning to visit a clothing optional beach soon with a friend. As a nudist you obviously have to put on alot more sunblock, but i am curious; what do nudists do about those hard-to-reach places like the center of the back or stuff like that? Are nudists allowed to help each other apply sunblock as long as it dosent get too explicit? Can you ask a good friend to help you? Any nudist with experience plz help. |

| You can't force your family to adopt it or accept it, but you can do a lot to help convince them of it. If you haven't told them at all yet, then try to predict what objections they'd have to it (if you're a fairly religious family, for instance, you want to figure out what your scriptures or church doctrine say about it. There's lots of information online for Christian nudists to help in that argument). If you're prepared for their objections, then when you bring it up to them, you can take away any reason they might have for not wanting to do it. Still, even if you do that, they might say no, so let it go if they do and give them time to think about it. |

| What is the problem with nudists families? The reason I am asking this question has to do with the answer to a previous question I posted. The earlier question had to do with extended breast feeding. One lady compared it to being nude in front of someone. We are human beings not sexual being. Even animals don't think of sex all the time, but in season. I don't find anything wrong with a person being nude in their own private home in front of anyone. It is not illegal. Why do people in a country where you can dress practically naked anyways have a problem with nudity? The problem is not with nudity or dressing revealing. The problem is with simple preverts who always have their minds on sex. These people need to grow up. Of course, I would not tell anyone to be naked anywhere but a private place, but cigarette smoke ( which is legal) is proven to be more harmful than nudity or breastfeeding. Actually, people in third world country who are supposed to be uneducated are more mature about nudity than the educated society. This has to do with people being obsessed with sex. We should be able to seperate nudity from sex. Doctor and medical profesionals are capable, because they have been educated. Again, what is the problem with someone being naked in their own home? After all, you can go to the beach are a bar and people are practically naked. |

| "Upstate" is kinda vague to give a specific answer. To some people Peekskill is upstate, to others, upstate doesn't start until you hit Albany... Point Au Roche State Park's Clothing Optional Area is dubious at best. I've been to that supposed spot twice and found that I was the only one there. That didn't bother me, but I have no idea if I was in the right spot. If I was in the correct place, it was a small, rocky, unmaintained area. "Beach" could be used liberally. Supposedly NYS Park beaches are Top-Free. Legally, a woman can choose too wear or not wear a swimsuit top at any state park. This is something I've never seen. There are several excellent lakes in the High Peaks area that are great for nude swimming and tanning. www.swimmingholes.org will give you some ideas. It lists many swimming areas and notes if clothing is optional. Many Capital Area Nudists frequently visit The Ledges in Vermont. ledges.dimentech.com/ The Ledges are an excellent area for sunning and swimming, but much of the beach is usually under water until after early July. It's on a reservoir and water levels take some time to drop. August is the best time to go. Takes about 90-100 minutes to get there from Downtown Troy (without traffic.) As others pointed out, there are several nudist clubs in the area as well. I have not visited the NY clubs as of yet, but we have many New Yorkers from Rockland and Putnam counties that come to Rock Lodge in NJ.www.rocklodge.com/index.html We have a small lake with floating docks as well as plenty of space to work on your tan. | The only official clothing optional beach in NY is Fire Island Light house beach, down on Long Island, which if you live in upstate NY, like me, is a little far to commute. www.fairharbor.com/pl_sight_light… Your best option would be to go to a clothing optional campground. There are several in NY, depending where your at. My two personal favorites are Empire Haven, about 30 min south of Syracuse and Juniper Woods, about 30 min south of Albany, but there are several more.
